Zoning Board of Appeals

Please Note: The Zoning Board of Appeals has updated the number of copies of surveys, building plans, and other submissions required for new and existing applications.

All future submissions to the Zoning Board of Appeals, for new and existing applications, now require;

•    Nine (9) original prints and one digital file (PDF on USB flash drive or via email) of surveys prepared by a land surveyor licensed in New York State.

•    Two (2) prints of full sized, scalable, floor and elevation plans, eight (8) additional copies of plans, no larger than 11” x 17”, and one digital file (PDF on a USB flash drive or via email). (If full size plans are no larger than 11” x 17”, a total of only 9 prints/copies are required.)

•    Nine (9) copies and one digital file (PDF on USB or via email) of all other submissions including revegetation plans, memoranda of law, engineering plans, construction protocols, and others. 

Planning Department Planners are available Monday - Friday between the hours of 1pm -4pm to assist with any questions.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Town Zoning Board of Appeals is to ensure equitable administration of the Town’s Zoning Code (Chapter 255 of the Town Code). The Board is comprised of five members appointed by the Town Board. Each member serves a five-year term. The Zoning Board hears and decides on all of the following:

  • Appeals from the Architectural Review Board
  • Appeals from the Building Inspector
  • Interpretations of the Zoning Code
  • Natural Resources Special Permits
  • Personal wireless service facility tiers
  • Revocation of certificate of occupancies Variances
