MaryBeth Fisher, a principal account clerk at the East Hampton Airport, recently completed a course offered by Airports Council International, a global airport trade group that promotes excellence in airport management and operations, and was awarded an Airport Operations Diploma.

Ms. Fisher completed three courses to achieve the diploma: one in Airside Operations, focusing on the components of aircraft management; a second on Terminal and Landside Operations, and the third on Airports Business Operations.

Jim Brundige, the East Hampton Airport manager, commended Ms. Fisher’s interest in and commitment to expanding her professional knowledge.  Ms. Fisher “involves herself in all aspects of airport operations to help ensure that we run a safe and efficient facility,” Mr. Brundige said.
“ This course has allowed her to better understand the functioning of an airport, enhancing her ability to be a part of the airport team.”

Ms. Fisher, who is interested in pursuing a career path in airport management, completed the online coursework on her off time, at home.

“Continuing education for employees is important,” East Hampton Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc said. “It not only increases efficiency and improves our ability to serve the public, but provides employees with opportunities for growth. I congratulate MaryBeth Fisher for her interest and initiative in completing this coursework.”
