The EH Town Police Department was recognized for its professional standards and received a 5-year reaccreditation at a recent NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services ceremony in Albany.
In 1992, the East Hampton Town Police Department was one of the first departments on Long Island to achieve statewide accreditation status. Since then, the Department ha maintained the highest of professional standards through the Accreditation Compliance program.
This year, after a three-day on-site review by a panel of NYS Division of Criminal Justice assessors, the department was unanimously approved for re-accreditation status for the next 5 years at an Accreditation Council meeting in Albany. . Lt. Chelsea Tierney was given the John Kimball O’Neill Certificate of Excellence Award for her outstanding work as the PD’s Accreditation Manager.
