Montauk beach to be restored and replenished with sand by Army Corps of Engineers: 

A contractor has been selected and the project, which will take several months, is expected to begin this coming winter and be completed prior to the summer of 2024. 

The $11.2 million sand-only beach refurbishment at full federal cost under FIMP (Fire Island to Montauk Point reformulation) will create a wider, more resilient beach in downtown Montauk.
