Police
Welcome to the East Hampton Town Police Department. As a proactive and community oriented police agency, we are always looking for ways to improve the service we provide the citizens and visitors to the Town of East Hampton. The web page has been designed to facilitate the community's ability to gather information about our department and its services, get copies of reports and link to other law enforcement resources. We hope in navigating our site, you will find answers to many questions and can be pointed to the correct agencies or officers for assistance. We are committed to providing professional and efficient law enforcement services, and hope our web page will assist us in meeting those goals.
The EHTPD is a NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services Accredited municipal law enforcement agency. We have 65 sworn police officers serving in patrol, detectives, supervisory, administrative and various specialized unit roles. We are committed to maintaining our Accreditation status, and focus on training and professionalism for all of our officers. Ongoing evaluation of our mission, use of our resources, and feedback from the community we serve is vital to continuing to develop and grow as an agency.
Our community is growing, and the work of our agency has continued to grow as well. Each year, we handle nearly 20,000 calls for service, over 1,000 motor vehicle accidents, over 2,000 medical aided cases; we also issue over 5,000 traffic citations, make over 700 arrests and handle hundreds of felony investigations. We strive to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of all people during the performance of our duties.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our web page.
The East Hampton Town Police Department is committed to excellence in its service to the community. Together with that community, we will develop a sense of community pride and an atmosphere intolerant of criminal activity.
