Clean Energy Communities
The NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities Program supports building sustainable communities in New York State by recognizing and rewarding municipalities for reducing greenhouse gasses and implementing clean energy. The program provides tools, resources, and technical assistance to help local governments implement clean energy actions that can save taxpayer dollars, create jobs, and improve the environment.
NYSERDA has identified 10 high-impact actions that local governments can take to save money, foster a vibrant economy, and improve the environment. By completing four of the ten high-impact actions, the Town of East Hampton earned the Clean Energy Community designation as well as a grant, of $100,000, to support additional clean energy projects. At least two of the four high-impact actions must be completed after August 1, 2016.
The Town of East Hampton has completed the following actions as a Clean Energy Community.
