Description of Beach

Located on South Emerson Avenue in Montauk next to the IGA. This site features a lifeguard protected ocean beach, daily beach parking (see details below under “Beach Hours”), food truck, vehicular beach access (Town of East Hampton permit required), and ADA accessible rest rooms. For further information please contact, via email, the Recreation Department, or call 631-324-2417.

Beach Hours

  • Beach open year-round   
  • Rest rooms – open mid-May through mid-October 
  • Daily Beach Parking - $35 per day (only when the lifeguards are on duty)
  • Lifeguard protected ocean beach – Kirk Park Beach is open for swimming from 9am-5pm when the lifeguards are on duty and within the designated areas only. (Most Town beaches open for swimming Memorial Day weekend, but only on the weekends until mid-June. All lifeguarded beaches are then open full time, Sunday through Saturday, mid-June through Labor Day. After Labor Day, some beaches remain open for swimming for the two weekends following Labor Day.)

Beach Rules

  • Swimming permitted only when the lifeguards are on duty within the designated areas
  • Parking requires a Town of East Hampton parking permit
  • Town of East Hampton Beach drive-on pass required for vehicular beach access (designated areas only)
  • No vehicles are permitted on beach between 10am-6pm from the Thursday before Memorial Day to 9/15 
  • No unauthorized commercial activity
  • Beach and trail usage is “At Your Own Risk”
  • Dogs should be controlled at all times and pick up after your dog 
  • No littering
  • No camping
  • No smoking 500ft from protected swimming areas during lifeguarded hours
