TOWN OF EAST HAMPTON ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR SECOND ROUND OF WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN 2022
The Town of East Hampton is now accepting grant applications for water quality improvement projects eligible for funding with the portion of the Community Preservation Fund earmarked for such projects.
The second application window for 2022 opens today, with proposals due before 4 p.m. on August 1, 2022.
Projects eligible for funding range from wastewater treatment improvement efforts to pollution abatement and aquatic habitat restoration. Specific information and the complete Request for Applications can be found on the Town website on the Natural Resources Department, Clean Water East Hampton page (http://ehamptonny.gov/689/Water-Quality-RFA-Grants). Information can also be provided by email, upon requests sent to CPFgrant@Ehamptonny.gov.
The Water Quality Technical Advisory Committee established this bi-annual process to allow for applicants wishing to obtain grant funding for water quality improvement projects to be considered..
Once the application window closes on August 1, all applications received will be reviewed and rated by the Committee and recommendations for grant awards will be presented to the Town Board for funding allocations.
"The East Hampton Town Board is encouraging any eligible organization or property owner interested in improving our water quality and protecting our precious lakes, harbors and ponds to apply for this opportunity to fund a specific project,” said East Hampton Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc.
