Robert S. Chaloner, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital's chief administrative officer, and Robert I. Ross, the hospital's vice president of community and government relations, attended a Town Board meeting at Town Hall on May 4 and received a "Proclamation of Appreciation" from EH Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc for their "exemplary service to our community" during the pandemic.
Both men played key roles in the hospital's efforts to address public health and safety, and worked closely with the Town to respond to the challenging, and changing, conditions as COVID-19 spread throughout the community and the world. Vaccination clinics run by both the hospital and by East Hampton Town provided access to the COVID vaccine for thousands of local residents. As a member of the Town's business committee focused on enacting appropriate safeguards while protecting, as much as possible, sectors of our local economy, Mr. Ross provided key information on infection rates, trends, and public health mandates.
