To license your dog, you need to print out and fill in the East Hampton Town Dog License Application or obtain an application from the Town Clerk’s office. Submit application along with a valid copy of your dog’s current rabies vaccination certificate and the license fee ($12.50 for altered dogs or $20.50 for unaltered dogs). The license does need to be renewed yearly, notices for renewal are sent out approximately 30 days prior to the license expiration date by the Town Clerk’s Office. East Hampton Town Code requires all dogs 4 months of age and old to be licensed (East Hampton Town Code, Chapter 86 Section 5A(1). Once licensed, each dog receives a license tag, such tag must be affixed to the dog’s collar at all times as per New York State Agriculture and Markets.
In the event a dog is not claimed, the dog is then evaluated by The Animal Rescue Fund of The Hamptons (ARF) to determine if the dog is safe for adoption. If the dog is not suitable for adoption (for reasons such as aggression, or bite, etc) then the dog is humanely euthanized. All efforts, including but not limited to, social media, microchipping, ID tags, license tags, and report histories are used in an attempt to locate owners of stray dogs.

Immediately contact the Animal Control office 324-0085, if an officer is not available to take your call, please leave a detailed message about your dog including breed, color, sex, temperament, location where lost or last seen, if the dog was wearing a collar with ID along with your name, phone number and address. Alternate places to notify: ARF 631-537-0400, WLNG (radio station) 631-725-2300 and social media, there are a couple of local Facebook pages that are dedicated to getting the word our regarding lost/found pets, 2 of the pages are: Bonac Pets (East Hampton, NY Pets) and Lost and Found Pets of East Hampton.

Two sets of ¼ inch scale plans, a completed building permit application, licensed contractor, signed and notarized and workers compensation insurance and survey. Hers rating or Res-Check required. Must meet all NY State Residential Codes and East Hampton Town Zoning Codes.
Plans are required to be ¼ inch scale; square footage is required on the plans, as well as GFA allowed and proposed.
New Residence and/or additions require Engineer or Architecture Stamped plans, with all others work at Inspectors discretion. All Commercial work requires Engineer of Architect Stamp plans.

No affordable accessory apartment shall be constructed on a lot with a total lot area less than 20,000 square feet.
The Code Enforcement Department is charged with enforcing codes which address public health and safety issues, including regulations related to garbage and rubbish, overgrown vegetation, inoperable or unregistered vehicles on private property, zoning and dangerous buildings.
Complaints and letters can also be mailed to the above address. Whenever possible, the form should be completed online.
Each reported violation must be personally witnessed. If the officer cannot gain access, they are not able to write a summons.
The inspector assigned to the area will conduct an inspection of the property, as soon as possible, typically within 24 hours of your complaint. If it is determined that a violation exists, the inspector may issue a notice of violation depending on the nature of the violation in order to achieve compliance.

Find out how to correct the problem and do so promptly.
You can ask for additional time provided you are making progress on the violations. Some problems are serious and correction must not be delayed. Remember to get proper permits that may be required for some repairs, if need be.
If you are unwilling to take prompt action to correct the problems, there are several possible consequences you may face such as fines and penalties.

The South Fork Commuter Connection (SFCC) is a coordinated, intermodal transportation service in which transit users ride the Long Island Railroad and then transfer to a Town provided shuttle bus.
This service is designed to bring workers from one of three LIRR stations west of the Shinnecock Canal to one of the LIRR stations east of the canal on weekday mornings. The Town provided shuttles will take these train riders to local places of employment in the morning; and the process is reversed in the afternoon, bringing trains users back to the stations via shuttle buses to board one of two westbound return trips.
The Long Island Railroad operates the train portion of the service. The Towns of East Hampton and Southampton will operate the connecting shuttle bus service which link to the train stations in their Town. These shuttles are for use by those who purchase a train ticket, ride the train and retain an LIRR ticket stub as a voucher for using the bus shuttle.
Those who utilize the train portion of this intermodal service, but cannot utilize the shuttle bus portion due to a disability or impairment related condition, are eligible to receive paratransit services in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Suffolk County Transit, which operates public bus service throughout the County and is the designated transit agency for Suffolk County, can provide paratransit service through its existing Suffolk County Accessible Transportation (SCAT) program.
SFCC related paratransit service between the train stations and the local employment centers would be for train arrivals and departures linked to the local shuttle bus services available at the stations east of the Shinnecock Canal. The users trip would originate at the train station in conjunction with the morning east bound train arrivals; and the users’ return destination would be the train station, in conjunction with an afternoon westbound departing train. (Paratransit services not related to the South Fork Commuter Connection intermodal service are also available through the Suffolk County Transit SCAT program.)
Eligibility for paratransit must be established prior to use, so enrollment in the SCAT program or comparable ADA paratransit service is required before service may be requested through the Suffolk County Accessible Transportation service system. Suffolk County Accessible Transportation (SCAT) ID cards are required for Suffolk County residents to utilize this paratransit service. Any individual who does not qualify for SCAT services, but is planning to use the SFCC train & bus service and is in need of a wheel chair lift equipped vehicle to get from or to the train station, should contact Hampton Hopper @ 631-259-7076 no later than 2PM the day before they plan to travel.
The days and times of service are compatible with the limited SFCC shuttle service schedule:
Payment for paratransit rides. The rider should give the paratransit vehicle driver the shuttle bus ticket they receive as part of their LIRR ticket for payment.

SFCC package tickets are available for sale from Bellport to Montauk at LIRR stations with open ticket windows and full service (gray/blue colors) ticket vending machines (TVM’s) – package tickets are not sold through eTix, MTA’s mobile ticket App. To purchase tickets from TVM’s, select “Deals & Getaways” on the main screen, then “Long Island Getaways” followed by selecting “South Fork Commuter Connection.” You will be asked to choose your departing station only. Since SFCCpackage tickets are valid for travel between Bellport and Montauk, the TVM’s will default to Montauk as the destination station.
Customers are encouraged to purchase two packages at the same time to use one rail/bus combo for the return trip. Tickets are valid for 60 days from the date of sale and each combo package is refundable for 60 days from date of sale (subject to a $10 refund processing fee per transaction, including multiple ticket purchased together in one transaction). Customers can purchase multiple tickets each time. A maximum of 24 tickets can be purchased in a 24hr period by credit card, while there is no ticket limit when paying with cash.
The LIRR has offered to provide employers with tickets in bulk that can be packaged into ticket books for sale/distribution to their employees. For more information on how this can be arranged, please call 631-702-1753.

The 511NY Rideshare Team (GRP)
The GRP serves as a back-up plan for regular ridesharing members who miss their carpool, vanpool or public transit option from work due to an unexpected emergency. During these unexpected situations, 511NY Rideshare will cover the cost of a taxi from work for members who commute sustainably three or more times per week.

No, bus shuttle vouchers can only be purchased with SFCC tickets and cannot be purchased separately. The shuttle is available only for connecting trains (please check posted SFCC schedules).”
The ticket you purchase is valid on any LIRR trip, however connecting shuttle bus services are only available on the SFCC designated trips.

LIRR Bicycle Permit
Must be one of the following; 1. Valid NY registration with valid East Hampton street address on it (NO P.O. BOXES). 2. Any person(s) who own a home within the boundaries of the Town of East Hampton. (Spouses may obtain a resident beach permit if they are not listed on the deed but will need to supply proof of marriage by presenting a marriage license the first time this permit is obtained). *If your home or vehicle is not listed under your personal name additional proof(s) of ownership will be required. Please call the office to find out what documents will be required to establish ownership.
A permit is required at the Town of East Hampton beaches 24/7 365 days a year.*Please note that parking at Indian Wells beach and the first paved lot at Ditch Plains require a resident town permit. Resident and non-resident beach parking permits also allow the vehicle to launch boats at East Hampton Town launch ramps.
The following is a list of the current fees; Non-resident beach permit $500, Family beach permit $150, Non-resident drive on permit $400, Recycling Permit $115, Sr. Recycling Permit $55, Secondary recycling permit $40*, Personal Shellfish permit $10, Commercial shellfish permit $30, Marriage License $40, Non-resident launch ramp permit $150, *One secondary price per primary recycling permit. This means that after your first secondary recycling permit a third permit will be full price.
Film Permits and Special Event Permit fees will be posted under forms.
Recycling and shellfish permits will be valid from April 1st the year they are purchased until March 31st the following year. Non-resident beach and non-resident drive on permits are valid from January first until December 31st. Resident beach and resident drive on beach permits will expire in years ending in 0 and 5. They also need to be changed when you get a new car, new license plates or the permit itself becomes illegible.

Original marriage license has to have been obtained from the Town of East Hampton Clerk's Office. To obtain a copy of your marriage license you must include valid photo identification, 10 dollars per each certified copy and a reason why you are requesting the document. Public Property: a permit for an organized assembly of persons upon a property which is a public park, beach, or other property which is open to the public. Please note that the exemption allows for, Noncommercial social events as defined above, on public property involving up to 20 people over the age of 18 years, provided that there is no tent, and the event is neither catered nor for which other services have been contracted.
Parade/Run/Walk/Triathlon: No person, group, entity or organization shall organize or conduct a parade/walk-run, as defined herein, upon any public street, sidewalk, walkway, right-of-way or public property within the Town of East Hampton, outside of the boundaries of any incorporated village, without first having obtained a written special event parade/walk-run permit from the appropriate Town officials.
Art Sale: permit for the commercial sale of artwork by the artist, upon the residential property of the artist. The holding of Art Sales on more than three occasions in a calendar year or for more than three successive days shall be deemed a business use subject to the provisions of Chapter 255, Zoning, of the Town Code of the Town of East Hampton.
